For every child, inspiration
UNICEF Bangladesh works to advance the rights of children and adolescents by improving outcomes in health, nutrition, education, child protection, WASH, and emergencies. Social and Behaviour Change (SBC) is a cross-cutting approach that supports these results by engaging communities, service providers, and local systems to adopt and sustain positive behaviours and social norms.
Chattogram Division, including Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHT) remains a priority area due to high levels of vulnerability, geographic isolation, climate risks, and limited access to services for marginalized populations. SBC and community engagement are essential to address equity gaps, improve service uptake, and strengthen accountability.
Following the Programme Budget Review (PBR), the SBC Officer position for Chattogram was abolished, creating a gap in direct technical support, coordination and monitoring at sub-national level. To ensure continuity and quality of SBC programming, UNICEF will recruit an Individual SBC Consultant to support SBC and community engagement activities in Chattogram Division. The consultant will give special attention to para centre based programme in three hill tracts districts, MNCAH programme in Khagrachari Districts, Immunization programme Chattogram City Corporation, Comilla, Bandarban in addition to support vulnerable communities during emergencies
