For every child, inspiration
UNICEF is mandated by the United Nations General Assembly to advocate for the protection of children’s rights and to support governments in improving the wellbeing of children and women. In Bangladesh, UNICEF works closely with the Government and development partners to generate evidence and strengthen data systems that inform policy, planning, and programming for children.
The Multiple Indicator Cluster Surveys (MICS) is an international household survey programme developed and supported by UNICEF to produce internationally comparable data on the situation of children and women. MICS surveys collect data on a wide range of indicators related to health, nutrition, education, water and sanitation, child protection, and early childhood development. These data support monitoring of national development plans and global commitments including the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The Bangladesh MICS 2025 survey, implemented by the Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS) with technical support from UNICEF, provides updated estimates for key indicators at national, divisional, and district levels. In order to strengthen the utilization of these data for decentralized planning and programme monitoring, UNICEF plans to prepare a series of district-level analytical reports and visual data products .
To support this process, UNICEF Bangladesh intends to recruit a Data Analytics Consultant who will compile and synthesize district-level statistics from MICS output tables and produce analytical reports, graphical summaries, geospatial visualizations and support sub-national dissemination of MICS findings.
How can you make a difference?
Purpose of Activity/Assignment
The purpose of this consultancy is to support the preparation of district-level analytical products based on MICS 2025 results, including district reports, divisional synthesis reports, and visual data products such as maps and statistical graphics. These analytical outputs will support evidence-based planning and programme prioritization at national and subnational levels.
