How can you make a difference?
Office of Internal Audit and Investigations (OIAI) reports to the Executive Director and is responsible for internal audit and investigation services to UNICEF. OIAI provides independent, objective assurance on the effectiveness of risk management and the effectiveness and adequacy of internal controls. OIAI conducts investigations in accordance with the International Uniform Principles and Guidelines for Investigations adopted at the 10th Conference of International Investigators and the OIAI Investigations Manual.
Consultant will provide language assistance (as defined below) in the designated languages to the Investigations Section in all aspects of the work that falls within OIAI’s mandate. OIAI’s primary requirement is for Arabic and French language assistance. Knowledge of the following additional designated languages will be considered an advantage: Spanish, Chinese, Pashto and Portuguese.

Minimum requirements:
Education : Bachelor’s degree in modern languages, linguistics, translation, interpretation or another field.
Work Experience:
Five years of relevant experience as an interpreter/ translator/language assistant working for an international organization is desirable.
Experience providing translation and interpretation services in support of investigative, legal, judicial or oversight functions is an advantage.
Language Requirements:
Mother tongue-speaker level proficiency in French, Arabic and English
Fluency in the following languages would be an advantage: Spanish, Chinese, Pashtu and Portuguese.
Knowledge/Expertise/Skills:
Professional qualifications in translation and interpretation are an advantage.
Desirables:
Experience as an interpreter/translator/language assistant working for an international organization
