Tiko is an organization that uses its digital platform called Tiko to motivate users primarily young women and adolescent girls – to make positive choices. We use nudges like reminders, discounts, in-person and digital follow-ups, and reward points to encourage our users to access and use healthy products and services. We also support them in becoming entrepreneurs and adding value to their economies. Tiko’s reward points can be used to redeem products and services at local shops, or as subsidies to cover the cost of sexual and reproductive health (SRH) services, removing the cost to access for the users, who are primarily 15-24-year-old adolescent girls and young women (AGYW).

Tiko has operations in the following countries either by having offices or by working through local partners in Kenya, Uganda, Ethiopia, Burkina Faso and South Africa.

Tiko is seeking a qualified consultant to conduct baseline quality audit, training need assessment, and conduct quality improvement plan activities (QIP) in tiko supported private non-franchise facilities that are located in Tiko Kenya implementing counties as follows;

Tier 1 – Baseline QA Audit, Training needs assessment & QIP Development

• Conduct clinical quality baseline audits to identify key quality gaps that affect the delivery of quality youth-friendly services across all the Tiko health offers
• Ensure the availability of commodities and consumables for FP/ HIV/SGBV services.
• Note and ensure the availability of tools, guidelines, and standard operating processes (SOPs) to identify infrastructural, process, and documentation gaps
• Conduct training needs assessment and enhance service provider competency through immediate on-the-job training, mentorship, and coaching.
• Conduct quality improvement audits and develop quality improvement plans for action by the facilities.
• Compile comprehensive QA audit reports and write reports based on the assessments.

Tier 2: QIP Implementation, Mentorship, Training & Continuous Quality Improvement

1. Review baseline audit and Training Need Assessment(TNA) findings, refine the QIP template, and share the implementation workplan.
2. Implement and Monitor QIP Progress

• Build the Competency of the health care provider and Reporting
• Provide need-based training and mentorship to service providers and report the activities.
• Certification and licensing of providers.
• Compile comprehensive QA audit reports and write reports based on the assessments. Share and hand these reports over to the Tiko QA Specialist.
• Document, present, and discuss all key learnings noted during the performance of the above scope activities with Tiko’s QA Specialist.
• Documented evidence of corrections in infrastructure, documentation, and clinical process gaps.

The activities will be implemented in Tiko, supporting active private non-franchised facilities.

Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible clinical experience and expertise in Adolescent and Youth Sexual and Reproductive Health (AYSRH), Family Planning (FP), HIV, and Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV), acquired specifically within a private clinic or pharmacy setting.

Demonstrated experience in providing and documenting clinical mentorship, capacity-building, or quality improvement interventions at private facilities in the project intervention areas.

2.3. Proposal demonstrates technical understanding of QA activities and has a QA system in place, including tools, job-aids, and other relevant infrastructure/resources.

2.5. The organisation is registered (registration certificate). QA individuals, independent providers, and consultancy firms are required to produce professional licences and renewed relevant trade/practice licences and applicable Tax ID Numbers

2.6. The organisation has received a regional or national government, or any other organisation, recommendation and/or references from current or past clients

3.1. Detailed cost indication to successfully implement the outlined deliverables

The following will be the deliverables expected from the consultants

A. Independent QA1 provider Consultant. (Tier 1)

• Conduct clinical quality baseline audits to identify key quality gaps that affect the delivery of quality youth-friendly services across all the Tiko health offers

• Note and ensure the availability of tools, guidelines, and standard operating processes (SOPs) to identify infrastructural, process, and documentation gaps.

• Compile comprehensive QA audit reports and write reports based on the assessments. Share and hand these reports over to the Tiko QA Specialist.

B. Independent QA2 provider Consultant. (Tier 2)

• Refined the QIP plan and implemented the work plan.
• Conduct and Provider competency assessment for service providers,
• Provide training based on the training and competency assessment, and certify providers with CPD points recorded toward license renewal.
• Detailed training and mentorship summary per facility/ provider
• Capture Lessons-learned brief and improvement summary.
• Facility performance review at the facility level and exit report.
• summit summary report for all activities
